«Posidonia 2008», the International Maritime Exhibition closed in great success at the Hellenikon Exhibition Centre. Otesat-Maritel participated again this year at stand 222, where it had the opportunity to present all its products and services which constitute the peak of telecommunications satellite services, globally.
During the Exhibition, the Minister of Mercantile Marine, Mr. George A. Voulgarakis, the Deputy Minister of Mercantile Marine, Aegean and Island Policy, Mr. Panagiotis Kammenos, the Association of Greek Shipowners, Members of OTE and Otesat-Maritel Board of Directors, as well as members of the international maritime community visited our Company’s stand and were welcomed by Mr. George Polychronopoulos, CEO of Otesat-Maritel.
The Exhibition began on Monday, June 2nd at the Hellenikon Exhibition Centre and finished at Friday, June 6th. During this time, the visitors from all over the world had the opportunity to view «live» presentation of the total solutions in satellite terminal equipment, software and specialized satellite services offered by Otesat-Maritel. Emphasis was given to the broadband services of Inmarsat FleetBroadband, that the visitors had the opportunity to see “live” and “play” by making calls, sending e-mail and SMS and browse the Internet. Also, there was a large participation from shipping community members at the common presentation of FleetBroadband and Otesat-Maritel. The visitors had the opportunity to see the first worldwide presentation of Iridium OpenPort 128kbps at Otesat-Maritel’s stand, and be informed about the system’s services. The equipment of this new satellite system will be commercially available at the end of September, 2008.
Otesat-Maritel constituted a powerful pole of attraction for the Greek and worldwide shipping community, with international partners also participating at the company’s stand by being present at the biggest feast of shipping, «Posidonia 2008».
