Otesat-Maritel is pleased to announce that it has officially been appointed as an Authorized Testing Application Service Provider for Long-Range Identification & Tracking system (LRIT) by the Ministry of Mercantile Marine, The Aegean and Island Policy upon the implementation of SOLAS V/19-1 regulation of the International Maritime Organization.

Having recognized the importance for the Maritime Industry to provide LRIT services for security reasons at sea, as well as the need for protection of the marine environment, Otesat-Maritel applied at the Hellenic Ministry of Mercantile Marine, The Aegean and Island Policy and was appointed as Authorized Testing Application Service Provider (ASP).

Our Company in cooperation with Thrane & Thrane will perform Conformance tests, following the ΙΜΟ prerequisites, to the Vessels’ LRIT transmitting equipment, in order to certify that the vessel’s equipment has been adjusted to LRIT requirements. Also, Otesat-Maritel should verify that every vessel has been registered at the European LRIT data base.
